Soft computing for hazardous waste routing in Malaysia: a review

    Get PDF
Nowadays, a significant number of researchers are focusing on utilizing soft computing approaches to address the issue of scheduling in applications concerned with hazardous waste management. In Malaysia, there is thoughtless awareness of the management of hazardous waste, even though the production of wastes in hazardous domains at the industrial and domestic levels has been rising lately. According to previous research findings, the location routing problem (LRP) can be designated as one of the models closer to the actual situation, evaluating the most suitable and optimal location for establishing facilities and utilizing transportation for pick-up and distribution. Recent studies have focused on enhancing the LRP model, and its methodologies approach to solve the waste management problem in hazardous domains. In this paper, a comprehensive review of the better promising and practicable mathematical model of LRP and its methodology approach is discussed, as well as an analysis of the publishing pattern and the trend of research over the preceding five years and more, as retrieved from the web of science (WoS) database. In conclusion, this research is significant in ensuring the effectiveness of reliable mathematical model development and suitable methodologies in the future for solving hazardous waste management problems

The matching technique of directed cyclic graph for task assignment problem

    No full text
In this paper, the theoretical graph application using matching is presented to assign a number of tasks onto two processors. The problem involves cycles, which concerns finding directed acyclic graph by arranging the nodes onto multicolumn inspired by DPillar and presenting their edges to show communication between the nodes. A co-comparability graph is presented in order to assign the task onto two processors. The quality techniques used for finding the acyclic graph and co-comparability graph lead to an efficient graph-mapping concept

Task scheduling for directed cyclic graph using matching technique

The scheduling and mapping of task graph to processors is considered to be the most crucial NP-complete in parallel and distributed computing systems. In this paper, the theoretical graph application using matching is presented to assign a number of tasks onto two processors. This paper addresses a directed-weighted cyclic graph. The effort is to reduce the graph onto directed acyclic graph. A co-comparability graph is presented in order to assign the task onto two processors. Combining several innovative techniques lead to an efficient graph-mapping concept, called DCGSimplify. Our simulation model found that the proposed techniques and algorithms are easy to be implemented

Shortest path technique for switching in a mesh network

    No full text
Switching is a technique to route data and instructions between pairs of source-destination nodes or among multiple nodes for broadcast communication. We realized that the shortest path problem has a wide application in the design of networks. Therefore, in this paper, we present a mesh network as our switching mechanism for computing the shortest path between the source and destination in our simulation model, developed using C++ on the Windows environment. The Floyd-Warshall algorithm is applied in finding the shortest path in all-pairs nodes

Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fatani and his Bisyaratul ‘Amilin wa Nazaratul ghafilin: a contribution in Hadith studies

Manuscripts on Hadith written by scholars from the Malay Archipelago had begun in the 17th century. Ahmad al-Fatani who is the subject of discussion in this present paper had written several manuscripts that can be categorized under the earliest writings in field of Hadith. Even though the obvious integral subjects of the writings were on similar discussions on tasawuf and fiqh, however he was evaluated and judged by his successors as a very meticulous and vigilant scholar with regards to transmitting Hadiths. He wrote both in Arabic and Malay languages. Among his manuscripts which were classified by Wan Mohd Saghir Abdullah as works on Hadith are Kitab Bisyaratul ‘Amilin Wa Nazaratul Ghafilin. This paper examines the main idea of his work which is considered as a reference in traditional madrasah system in the region
